our history

Founder and owner Kevin Poitras began Post Plastics in 2000. Before starting the business, he was overwhelmed with the vast quantity of plastic scraps proceeding to landfill and recognized the growing need to create an eco-friendly solution. Post Plastics began building recycling programs to solve this issue for virtually every type of industry. Over the years, the company has grown to accommodate more varieties of plastic helping to preserve a greener planet. We are dedicated to working with our clients to solve their unique plastic waste issues. 

With a roster of global partners, we collect and recycle almost every type of plastic. We now have a reputation for being a leader in producing high quality regrind and repro for local and international industries allowing the creation of new products from reprocessed plastic. We make it a priority to generate very little waste—virtually everything we collect is recycled.

Respond to your inquiry

We determine whether we can give you a quote over the phone by viewing photos of your product. If more details are required, we will arrange to come to your location for a walk-through inspection. During this time, we are able to review all your waste materials and determine if there are other products that can be recycled.

Upon accepting our quote

We deliver Gaylord bins to collect the scrap plastics in. If required, we will deliver a trailer to free up precious real estate within your facility.

Ready for pick up

When an order is ready for collection, our customer contacts us to schedule a date and supplies us with details of the order. Within the GTA, pick up usually occurs within 48 hours or less. If we are require extra time, we will contact you.

Unload and identify

Upon delivery, we identify the product and determine the weight. We produce a PO immediately to ensure our customer will receive payment in a timely manner.

Product sorting

In most cases, we receive materials pre-sorted. However, in the case where sorting is required, we take the time to sort product to ensure there are no contaminants before proceeding to regrinding.

Shred/Regrind

Oversized materials are first shredded to be compatible with our regrind equipment. Next, they undergo regrind producing a granular form. Finally they are packaged and labeled for shipping.

Repro/Resin production

If a customer requires their materials in a uniform pelletized form (recycled plastic resin), we convert, melt and extrude the recycled plastic into resin. Custom compounding is completed based on our customers specifications.

We sell product all over the world. Over the years we’ve developed valued relationships with international businesses allowing us to divert significant quantities of plastic scrap away from landfill and be repurposed for new products.
